Successful Internet Article Marketing Means Fishing in the Right Pond

Internet article marketing and fishing share a lot of the same characteristics. One of the most important ones is know where to market or fish.

The categories or topics within the Internet article marketing strategy are too many to enumerate in this article. However some of my favorites are:

  • Sales in Business
  • Ethics for Business
  • Customer Service
  • Productivity
  • Strategic Planning
  • Real Estate Selling
  • Top 7 or Top 10 Tips
  • Positive Attitudes
  • Coaching
  • Inspirational
  • Leadership
  • Motivation
  • Goal Setting
  • Time Management
  • Self Esteem
  • Success

Each of these topics or categories is its own little to big pond. Within each of these ponds are literally millions of fish that may or may not see your bait because of all the other bait in the same pond.

This is why you must determine what ponds you want to fish in and monitor the results from those ponds. When I first started using Internet article marketing, I cast my bait into a lot of different ponds. Today, if would fish far fewer ponds and put a lot more bait in each pond. For quantity is first. Your bait must be noticed.

Each day I do monitor my results within each of the ponds that I fish by:

  • Recording how many fish viewed my bait or article reads/views
  • Recording how many fish hit the bait or click throughs
  • Recording how many fish shared the bait with other fish or RSS feeds
  • Recording how many fish took the entire hook or signed up through an auto-responder
  • Recording how many fish that I landed or actual sales

Through these monitors, I can determine what pond is delivering more results. Then I can make any course corrections to my marketing plan within my strategic plan. Recently, I did just this by concentrating some new writing efforts within a category that I had previously ignored. This ignorance was because I had not taken the time to look deeper within that category.

Consider your Internet article marketing as fishing in cyberspace. You may possibly even achieve your marketing goals whatever they are.
